These truck engines do not contain a built-in EDR component. However, the Volvo ECM does contain data about engine parameters that may be helpful in some cases. These may include the maximum governed speed of the truck and the presence or absence of fault codes.

In 2009, Volvo and Mack Trucks merged. 2010 and newer Volvo engines share the VMAC IV electronics with Mack Trucks, and have similar data collection capabilities.

As with Mack Trucks, new model Volvos must be downloaded by one of Mack/Volvo's Authorized Providers.
